ANCCS is a 21st Century Community Learning Center. Students in grades K-5 receive quality academic assistance during the afterschool program through homework help and hands-on enrichment activities.
Enrollment is limited, if you want to enroll your child(ren), ask their teacher and/or complete both parts of the application (found in the Documents section).
Each group spends approximately 45 minutes completing their homework and/or reading. The remaining time is spent in hands-on academic enrichment activities, including language arts, math, science, social studies, character development and physical education.
Friday is Club Day! Each student throughout the year will be able choose from a list of available Friday Clubs, including the Strategic Games Club, AK Native Cultural Club, Drums Club, Strategic Games Club, Arts & Crafts Club, Beading Club, Lego Robotics Club, Moovin' Groovin' Club, Music Theater Club, Acting Club, and Cooking Club. (Some clubs will be restricted to certain grade levels.)
Students attending during the regular school day are expected to attend the afterschool program unless previous arrangements have been made. Enrolled students are expected to stay for the full duration of the program: 3:30-5:30.
Other after school activities, such as Basketball and song/dance groups, may be available.
Before school care is available beginning at 7:30 am. Do not drop students off before 7:30 as there will not be access into the school until 7:30 am.
